The Bachelor Course in Finance I develops your knowledge and skills in the finance area. After reading the courses, you gain an understanding of several theories and models applied in financial economics. This full-semester course in finance comprises the following four modules:Accounting theory: This module covers theories that helps you understand the foundations of the international accounting standard IFRS and the role of accounting in business and society. The course contains a basic orientation in IFRS.Econometrics: The module covers various econometric models used in research in financial eco-nomics.Portfolio choice theory: The module gives an orientation in modern portfolio theory and behav-ioural finance, covering issues such as optimal portfolio choice, asset pricing models, and invest-ment risk analysis.Corporate finance I: This module focuses on corporate finance issues, such as capital structure, the operations of capital markets, cost of capital estimation and financial options.The course is aimed at students who have already completed at least two years of university-level studies, of which at least one year is in business administration. In combination with the course Bachelor course in finance II and prior studies that fulfils the requirements of Linnaeus University, it can lead to a bachelor degree. Whether pursuing careers in investment banking, asset management, or corporate finance, this course equips students with the analytical tools and knowledge necessary to excel in the dynamic field of finance.

Företagsekonomi 60 hp inklusive grundläggande kurser i Extern redovisning, finansiering och ekonomisk styrning, eller motsvarande. Engelska 6, eller motsvarande.
